When things look like they can’t get worse in Gaza they do. Simply put there is an attempted military overthrow taking place in the Gaza strip initiated by the Hamas. The fighting has even started to spread to Israeli controlled Judea and Samaria. The Hamas is attempting to usurp any vestige of power that remains in the hands of Fatah. The rational behind this is simple; the Hamas has felt for a long time that the Fatah was an outside group that was imported from Tunisia to take political control over the Palestinian Authority. The former now deceased leader Yasser Arafat who was running the PLO from Tunisia until the Israeli government brought him back in accordance with the Oslo accords. These treaties became the impetus for two Intifadas (armed struggle) with Israel. As soon as it became clear that there was no one really in control and no one to talk to Israel decided to unilaterally leave the Gaza strip in an attempt to lessen friction between Israel and the inhabitants of Gaza. The problem with that policy was that many in Gaza perceived the Israeli exit was caused by military action by the Hamas raising the popularity of the Group. They soon after won a landslide victory in the PA parliament, However the presidency with it the Palestinian police remain in the hands of the Fatah

The popular Hamas on the street has decided to take matters into its own hands and is taking control by force.

 
All this will have major repercussions on almost everything that will happen in the Middle East. The United States has been advocating a two state solution but refuses to talk to the Hamas as it regards it as a terror organization. This would essentially mean two Arab entities one in Gaza and one in Judea/ Samaria. This is madness to every party involved in the conflict. The United States is so worried about the disappearance of the Fatah Faction that it is asking Israel to re-supply Fatah with ammunition to fight the Hamas. There is a measure of madness in this request as well.

Fundamental Islam seems to be spreading everywhere all steps to stop it seem to be failing.
