Spam and swindle are rampant on the web
Who among us hasn’t received spam e-mails telling us how rich we can become if we only would answer a e-mail and accept a check for $8,000,000. How many Viagra e-mails have you received in the last month? Some people receive almost exclusively e-mails like these that essentially make there e-mails nonfunctional. Many people have switched out of Microsoft based e-mail systems and have started to use online e-mail systems. Some of these like G-mail have highly reliable filters that weed out almost all spam and make the e-mail once more a more useful medium. Many legitimate businesses do not use e-mail addresses to try to promote themselves as unknown e-mails are often sent directly to junk files and never seen. Some SMO sites have even developed specialized e-mail systems that completely filter any possibility of spam e-mail communication. This may be the e-mail of the future as these types of e-mails everybody will open up and read. There are those that have chosen to fight fire with fire with regard to extreme spammers, they spam back. How is this done? Carefully very carefully. They often offer the spammer a counter deal that never materializes but does take up lots of time and energy of the spammer. This doesn’t give these criminal spammers time to spam and swindle innocent people and gives them a taste of their own medicine. Some high profile spammers have been arrested in the last few months in the hope that this would diminish somewhat the volume of spam. This has not happened yet. |
