Monster sentenced to death

John Couey was sentenced in Inverness, Florida, courtroom to the ultimate punishment, death.

There are many people who are against any form of capital punishment the writer of these words included. This is an exception to that rule as far as many are concerned. If there ever was a case of where capital punishment was justified it has to be here. The almost indescribable horror of a little girl being kidnapped and raped and left slowly to die of suffocation is beyond anything a normal human mind can comprehend. This most heinous of acts deserves the most severe punishment civilized man can met out. There is no doubt as to the perpetrator of this act society will not be killing the wrong guy it will be killing the right guy if there ever was one. Each act done on this little girl may have deserved this punishment but as a civilized society we may have spared this evil man his life. The combination of the kidnapping sexual assault slow suffocation and physical suffering that are so difficult to think about make society look at itself and say this man is evil he does not deserve to breath the air we do. But that doesn’t seem to be the worst part of this. The mental anguish and terror of a little girl that still trusted and didn’t really know about evil and this was used by this murderer to commit this most horrible crime. This has nothing to do with deterrent it has everything to do with punishing a man who truly deserves his punishment.  

I am against capital punishment but this has to be the exception.
