Tension as Syria mulls response to Israeli raid

Confusion and heightened tension in Middle East

Amid confusion and veils of secrecy tension seems to be building between
Syria and Israel. No one in The Israeli government except for the foreign defense and Prime minister even knew about the alleged Israeli raid. This much is known.

A highly sensitive Syrian military installation was seen as a direct threat to
Israel and had been under surveillance. This surveillance included reconnaissance aircraft and  satellites. From unofficial sources and a report from the Sunday times a general picture has been painted. An Elite commando unit that specializes in creating accurate targets for warplanes  was somehow landed in Syria. This undetected unit positively identified the suspected target  and used laser technology to mark the target. The Israeli air force then destroyed this target leaving behind a few fuel tanks that were used for refueling.

Now for the conjecture.

Some reports have said that
North Korea was supplying Syria with nuclear capabilities a charge that the Koreans deny. Other reports have a large cache of weapons being destroyed that came from Iran. Whatever the reason Israel it seems has taken the initiative in the war of nerves between Israel and Syria. Many analysts cannot see the president of Syria doing nothing in response to the Israeli raid. No one knows what this response will be and how this might escalate to war. Everybody seems to be waiting for some kind of Syrian response.

War seems imminent.
