War seems imminent in Middle East

On the morning of the solemn Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur in 1973 the Egyptian and Syrian Armies Launched a surprise attack on the state of Israel. It was initially very successful and removed the albatross from Arab armies after a crushing defeat in 1967.

It seems right now just before this same date that the winds of war are blowing in the Middle East. These are the matchups.

Syria backed by Iran mulls reaction to an Israeli raid on September 6. This war act by Israel was done in fear of nuclear capability that Syria might attain. Next to them in Lebanon the Hizbulah who already started a war is readying for another war. In the south the Hamas and Jihad Islami are firing missiles daily into Israel are preparing for war if and when Israel decides to enter the strip. In the background Iran is slowly but surely building its nuclear arsenal while making blunt statements about destroying Israel. The only quiet area seems to be from Egypt which may change if the rumors about President Mubarek are true. The Moslem brotherhood is eager to overthrow the government and establish a strict Islamic state that would also threaten Israel.

This daunting yet realistic picture of the possible multiple conflicts is keeping the
Middle East under pressure from war. While this is going on Israel has been conducting raids into the Arab city of Nablus arresting suspected terror cells.

War is very close no one knows exactly how close.

Israel seems to be surrounded by enemies once again who are threatening to annihilate the Jewish  state. There was a similar situation in 1967. Israel then struck first.

Time will tell.
