Baseball needs to go back to old rules, everybody who plays should hit.

Dh rule stinks it should be dumped

No matter what anybody says or writes the most interesting part of the third world series game was the pitching and hitting of Daisuke Matsuzaka, Boston’s Japanese pitcher. The pitcher who is supposed to be the weakest hitter in the lineup comes thru with an two RBI single is what the World Series and baseball are all about. The crazy DH rule which was supposed to infuse offense has had its day and deserves to be cancelled. Where has all the strategy gone of pinch hitters for pitchers or pitchers coming up with big hits at unexpected times?

In this World Series the classic DH David Ortiz was forced to play first base taking the place of probable gold glove first baseman Kevin Youklis. Youklis could not go back to his former position at third as Mike Lowell has been playing very well there. The basic fact that there are separate rules for both leagues is bit bizarre to say the least.

I am confident that most baseball fans are against the DH rule. Let’s get rid of it.
