Roger Clemens, one of the greatest pitchers in Baseball history, who has been accused of taking illegal steroids, is suing his former trainer, who has implicated him in the worst baseball scandal since the black sox scandal of the early 1900's . Clemens, a legend in his time, who was awarded the prestigious Cy Young award seven times for his outstanding performance in both the American and the National Leagues, is facing the greatest challenge to his professional and personal integrity.

Brian McNamee who had worked as Clemens' trainer, told congressional authorities that he had injected Clemens with illegal steroids. Clemens denies this charge categorically, saying that "this is a slanderous lie'. He is suing McNamee and is also willing to undergo a polygraph to prove he is telling the truth. It is hard to imagine a false accusation just being made up about a living baseball legend. Sadly most people believe that Clemens cheated. Winning the law suit for Clemens may help somewhat restore his reputation but what is more likely is that he will be denied entrance to baseballs hall of fame. That will be a humiliation for Clemens and for all of baseball.

Clemens and other stars could do jail time if they are convicted of perjury and of using illegal drugs. Baseball may not recover from the spectacle of Roger Clemens entering prison.

Its just to bad.
