Professor Liviu Librescu a lecturer and Research fellow in Aeronautical engineering has been gunned down by a mass murderer at Virginia Tech University. He apparently saved the lives of his students by barricading himself against the door when the mass murderer attempted to enter his classroom and gun down his students. He died in the process.

Professor Librescu who was born in Romania later lived in Israel moved to Virginia in 1986 to work as full professor.

The irony of a holocaust survivor who lived in Israel and was killed in seemingly peaceful West Virginia was not lost on many.

It seems something has to be done to avoid the sale of weapons to almost anyone who wants to buy them. The American gun lobby is a very powerful lobby that donates considerable sums of money to politicians who support gun sales.
