Many in the United Kingdom understand the seriousness of the hostage crisis in Iran and wished it was just an April fool’s joke. This is no joke.
Britain is facing some difficult decisions in what has become an crisis that seems to be leading to one place. War. There comes a time where a sovereign country needs to address direct aggression from a foe or risk appeasement that will lead to more severe consequences. Neville chamberlain sought to appease aggression and the world paid with WW2. It seems clear that Iran is testing the resolve of the United Kingdom and of the free world. If the reaction is appeasement and not resolute action the entire world may be on the verge of unknown calamity. Mr. Chamberlain hoped to avoid war with appeasement let us hope Mr. Blair will have learned not to let history repeat itself |
