US to supply Lebanese Army with Weapoms to fight new insurgency

Lebanon has seen much turmoil in the last thirty years with varied civil wars that have ravaged the country. The current insurgency by extremist insurgents seems to be the most serious so far. The Lebanese army is in dire straits as it attempts to crush the current insurgency and is already running out of ammunition. The US is very worried that another middle eastern country will fall to radical Islam and is supplying Lebanon with arms.

It seems that the more the US trys to shape regime change to more modern less extreme regimes the opposite happens. These don’t seem to be positive developments from the perspective of the United  States
