It seems every one is interested in the plight and flight of a humpback whale and her calf. These whales were confused and took a wrong turn exiting the ocean to the fresh water Sacramento bay. It is very fitting that man is so worried about these whales now after decades of slaughter of these animals for their blubber and oil. But beyond that the picture of a mother and her calf struggling for survival against all odds has capture the mind and heart of people everywhere.

With so much violence going on in the world, reports of strife in almost every news site one opens the thought of two whales swimming in the open water to freedom is very soothing. School children everywhere have been following the dramatic progress these whales have made and they are now just fifty miles from salt water which would signify their complete return to their natural habitat.
