Fear of Spread of New TB Strain on flight
As if travelers had nothing to worry about when flying. A typical traveler is frisked put into different x-ray machines and jostled. He is asked to remove his shoes belt and who knows what else. Some reports have said that some machines can literally see naked bodies thru surveillance systems. A person is disrobed accused and abused when he wants to fly and still even hand guns have been smuggled by accident and on purpose by people trying to test the system. So a person has to go thru a massive often ridiculous security check and still worry about his own security. But alas this isn’t enough as travelers who happened to fly to France a few weeks ago may have contracted Tuberculosis. This mostly untreatable new strain TB is often deadly and is highly contagious. There are people that still remember the Iron lung age and the sanatoriums that were full of TB patients. The main carrier has been quarantined but travelers who were with him may have contacted the disease and may be spreading it to others. This may create a major headache for homeland security as this model may be copied by terrorists. We may see selective medical checks now for flyers. This ramifications of this may be staggering. |
